Web Safety

Although BOUSD limits student access to online directories at school, they are available from home computers, friend’s computers, cell phones, and public computers. The Information age offers the advantage of instant information, resources and tools that can be accessed nearly anywhere and it never closes. However this instant access can lead to problems, if kids are allowed to roam around the Internet without supervision and without being taught the rules. It is essential that all parents understand that the Internet will be part of your child’s life and kids need to be taught how to use these resources safely. The link below provides parents with information on Web Safety as well as our District Internet Use Policy and our School Board Policy on Student and Teacher Use of Technology.
