Welcome Back BOUSD Students and Families,
I hope this letter finds you ready for the start of the 2020-21 school year. We are excited to welcome each of you back to school. It will
be a different start to the school year for me as I begin my 32nd year in education. I always look forward to meeting students and
families as they arrive at school on the first day full of excitement and anticipation for what the new school year holds. Though this

Knowing that distance learning was a potential reality to open the school year, District staff have been evaluating online instructional enhancements that will enrich daily synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for our students. I am proud of the work and preparation the District staff has done to ensure a great start to 2020-21. Though we have been faced with challenging circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our commitment to you, your children, and their education has remained unwavering.
Brea Olinda Unified School District has a long history of educational excellence and we are committed to that ongoing legacy. You have received communication from each of your children's schools about material pick-up, instructional matters, our ongoing commitment to feeding children during this time of Distance Learning, and a myriad of other details. We will continue to provide you with regular communication so that you remain informed as we navigate the challenges and ever-changing developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Brea Olinda Unified School District family has been amazing during this unprecedented time. I want to thank you all in advance for your ongoing partnership as we plan, flex, pivot and execute an enriching education for the students of BOUSD.
I look forward to the day when I will see you once again interacting at events on our campuses. Those times were taken for granted in their regularity and routine prior to March 16, 2020, yet we know they will return. Until then, be safe, stay well, and I wish you and your family a wonderful 2020-21 school year.
