Ms. Keri Kropke - Board Member
Keri Kropke was elected to the Brea Olinda School Board in November, 2018. She has lived in Brea for 16 years and has a son attending a Brea school. Ms. Kropke is an elementary public educator with a California Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and has recently become a speech language pathologist specializing in language, early intervention and autism spectrum disorder.
As an education advocate, Ms. Kropke has promoted early language opportunities to close achievement gaps as well as fought and secured special education funding from the State of California. Additionally, she has worked on PTA/PTO’s, school site councils, and principal’s advisory committees over the course of her career in public education. Ms. Kropke was also one of the first female professional baseball players to compete against men. Her team, the Colorado Silver Bullets, was inducted into the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995.
Ms. Kropke has a B.A. in political economy from U.C. Berkeley, an M.A. from Cal State Fullerton in History, a post baccalaureate from Chapman University in Communication Disorders, and a M.A. from Cal State Fullerton in Communication Sciences. Ms. Kropke is also a commissioner on the California Health Facility Financing Association for the state of California. Ms. Kropke has committed her professional life to improving every child’s access to inclusive education and believes public education is the cornerstone of a great, democratic society.
