“Mr. Champion is a talented administrator who will bring a wealth of unique experience to this position," said Brea Olinda Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Brad Mason. "His vision and skills are an excellent fit for our district, and we look forward to welcoming him to the BOUSD team."
With 30 years of financial experience, Mr. Champion has served as a Corporate Controller, Chief Financial Officer, Tax Practitioner and business owner. Most recently, Mr. Champion served as the Chief Business Officer for Millbrae Elementary School District where he was responsible for the organization and administration of the financial and business affairs of the district, including maintenance and operations, food services, payroll, purchasing, warehousing, classified personnel, risk management, the IT department and transportation.
“I am honored and humbled to be selected as the next assistant superintendent of business services for the Brea Olinda Unified School District, and consider myself fortunate to work with so many talented and dedicated educators,” said Mr. Champion. “I am hopeful that I can leverage my experience and skills for the benefit of our students and staff, and make a positive impact on the BOUSD community.”
Champion has a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. He also possesses a Chief Business Official Certificate from the University of California Riverside Extension, a contractor’s license and is licensed by the Department of Insurance.
Mr. Champion will assume his position on August 1, 2019.
