Facilities Master Plan

A Facilities Master Plan (FMP) is a long-term roadmap that guides how Brea Olinda Unified School District (BOUSD) manages, maintains, and improves its schools and facilities. The purpose of the FMP is to ensure learning environments within BOUSD:

  • Meet the needs of current and future students

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning

  • Provide safe, modern, and sustainable spaces

  • Reflect community values and priorities

  • Optimize resources and funding opportunities

By gathering input from staff, families, and community members, the FMP helps the District make smart, data-driven decisions about facilities improvements. This includes identifying priorities, addressing aging infrastructure, planning for growth, and ensuring equity across all schools.

The FMP also positions the District to secure state matching funds and other funding opportunities that can reduce local costs and maximize the impact of every dollar spent. Ultimately, the Facilities Master Plan is about more than buildings—it’s about creating spaces that inspire learning, strengthen community, and prepare BOUSD for the future.

As part of our long-range planning, BOUSD is looking ahead to ensure facilities continue to meet future needs, support the community, serve staff, optimize resources, and stay aligned with its mission and values.

The District is currently seeking input from the community to help update the Facilities Master Plan. Please take a few moments to share your insights, priorities and concerns. All feedback will directly shape how our facilities evolve in the years ahead.

The FMP Survey will be available through October 15, 2025.
