Falcon Academy students are soaring to new heights after earning 1st Place in the Grades 3–5 Level 1 Non-Moving Prototype Division at the prestigious ocMaker Challenge competition!
The winning student team developed an innovative project called SkyGuardian — a creative drone concept designed to help improve safety for campers and hikers in outdoor environments. The prototype was created with the goal of providing support during emergencies and enhancing communication and monitoring in remote areas.
Throughout the ocMaker Challenge, students engaged in hands-on learning experiences that encouraged critical thinking, engineering design, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving. Team members worked together to brainstorm ideas, design their prototype, and present their concept to judges, demonstrating impressive creativity and innovation well beyond their grade level.
Falcon Academy’s success at the competition reflects the District’s commitment to providing students with meaningful STEM learning opportunities that inspire curiosity, imagination, and future-ready skills.
Congratulations to the Falcon Academy team for representing their school with excellence and bringing home a first-place finish!
