California Healthy Kids Survey
Brea Olinda Unified School District (BOUSD) remains committed to providing all students with a tailored learning experience that best suits individual needs. To get a snapshot of student experience in BOUSD, your child is being asked to share their insights via the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS), sponsored by the California Department of Education (CDE). The information that our students share will play a critical role in our District's LCAP development and future planning.
Some key points:
Survey Content. The survey gathers information on developmental supports provided to youth; school connectedness and barriers to learning, as well as behaviors such as physical activity and nutritional habits; alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use; and school safety.
The results from this survey are compiled into district- and county-level CHKS Reports. To view a copy of your district’s report, go to https://calschls.org/reports-
data/search-lea-reports/(Outside Source) and type in the district name. Results will become available once our Survey window closes.
- Samples of the questionnaires are listed below. You can also review a copy at the District Office.
Survey participation is voluntary and requires parent permission.
Students who, with your permission, agree to participate do not have to answer any questions they do not want to answer, and may stop taking the survey at any time.
CHKS participation is anonymous. No names are recorded or attached to the survey forms or data. CHKS will be administered electronically. Our survey window will open on January 27, 2022, and close in late February.
