By-Trustee Area Elections: Community Feedback Requested

Hello BOUSD Community! Your feedback is requested! The Brea Olinda Unified School District Board of Education has initiated the process to change the manner in which members of the Board are elected. Currently, Brea Olinda Unified School District holds at-large elections, in which each member of the Board is elected by registered voters of the entire school district.
Under the new system, Board members residing in each trustee area will be elected by the registered voters in that particular trustee area.

New Administrative Appointments for the 2019-20 School Year

Olinda Elementary Students Featured on KTLA 5

Five 5th grade students at Olinda Elementary School recently put their heads together to come up with a one-of-a-kind invention that could help their friend Justin, a student with disabilities, who is non-verbal. Using the design process, they came up with a problem, performed research, and put forth a solution that they call - the "Vest Buddy." The "Vest Buddy" is wearable augmented alternative communication vest that will allow students (like their friend Justin) who have trouble speaking to be included when playing sports or on the playground. As far as we know, this vest is a first of it's kind.
