Seven schools in the Brea Olinda Unified School District (BOUSD) have been named to Educational Results Partnership’s (ERP) California Honor Roll, recognizing the schools among California’s top-performing public schools for its student achievement and success in closing academic achievement gaps.

BOUSD schools receiving this distinction are:

  • Arovista Elementary

  • Brea Country Hills Elementary

  • Falcon Academy of Science and Technology

  • Laurel Elementary Magnet School of Innovation and Career Exploration

  • Mariposa Elementary

  • Brea Junior High

  • Brea Olinda High School

The California Honor Roll recognizes schools that outperform their peers in supporting student learning, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations. This year, 2,080 schools statewide earned the distinction, representing approximately 24 percent of all eligible schools in California.

The recognition is based on student outcome data from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) for the 2024–2026 academic years. The Honor Roll highlights schools demonstrating success in helping students develop essential skills in reading, writing and mathematics.

The recognition of seven BOUSD schools reflect the District’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, meaningful learning opportunities and helping every student reach their full potential. Across elementary, junior high, and high school, BOUSD teachers and staff work in partnership with students and families to support student growth, strengthen foundational skills, and prepare students for future success.

“We are incredibly proud to see seven of our schools recognized among California’s top-performing schools,” said Superintendent Brinda Leon. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our teachers and staff, the engagement of our students, and the partnership of our families. Together, we are creating environments where students are empowered and supported to succeed.”

Presented by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence in collaboration with statewide and local business leaders, the California Honor Roll is part of a national effort to recognize schools that prepare students with the skills they need to succeed in school, the workforce and life. The program also encourages collaboration among educators to share effective practices that accelerate student learning and improve outcomes.

BOUSD congratulates the students, educators, staff and families at Arovista Elementary, Brea Country Hills Elementary, Falcon Academy, Laurel Elementary Magnet School, Mariposa Elementary, Brea Junior High and Brea Olinda High School for this outstanding recognition.
