We're excited to share the renderings for the Brea Junior High Modernization Project, as presented by PJHM Architects during last week's Aug. 20 Board of Education Meeting.
The modernization will transform the campus with updated, modern learning spaces designed to support students and staff for years to come, while preserving the character and history of one of our oldest schools in Brea.
✨Project Highlights include:
🔹Modernized learning spaces throughout campus
🔹A new gymnasium and multipurpose room
🔹A new library designed for today's learners
🔹A separate 6th grade wing
🔹Improved student pick-up and drop-off lanes separate from the parking lot
🔹Preservation of the historic administration building

👷🚧 Measure H News: The Falcon Academy of Science and Technology Multipurpose Building and Kitchen Project reached an important milestone this week, as the District hosted a mandatory contractor conference and site visit for 12 prequalified general contractors.
District representatives along with the project's architect, Studio Plus, met with contractors at Falcon Academy to review the proposed location of the new facility, familiarize contractors with existing campus and site conditions, and provide an overview of the next steps in the District's contractor selection process.
The strong participation reflects significant contractor interest in the project and provides the District with a competitive pool of qualified firms as the project moves into the proposal and evaluation phase.
The District is utilizing a competitive Request for Qualifications and Proposals, RFQ/RFP No. 26-0002, to select a Lease-Leaseback contractor based on the best-value evaluation process established in the solicitation. Contractor questions are due through PlanetBids by Aug. 17 at 12 p.m.
Contractor proposals are due August 24, 2026 at 12 p.m. The District will then proceed with its formal evaluation and selection process.
The new facility will provide Falcon Academy students, staff, and the school community with an enhanced multipurpose space and food-service facility, representing an important investment in the campus and the District's commitment to modernizing learning environments through Measure H.

We're proud to celebrate Logan T of Falcon Academy, who captured 1st Place at the California National Civics Bee Competition and will represent California at the National Civics Bee Championship in Washington, D.C., this fall!
A huge congratulations also goes to Aryan G of Olinda Elementary, who earned 2nd Place, as the two Brea students helped lead an impressive sweep of the top honors at the state competition held June 27 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

The Brea Olinda Unified School District Board of Education is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy in Trustee Area 4 following the adoption of Resolution No. 26-04 on March 5, 2026. The Board will fill the position through a provisional appointment, with the selected candidate serving through December 14, 2026.
📅 Interested candidates must submit a completed application in person to the Superintendent’s Office by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026.
